I recently received my HGVC/RCI book. The book is differet this year. Previously it was a regular RCI book with an HGVC cover on it. This new one looks as if it was printed for HGVC. The book is much smaller. First, it only has GC & RID resorts. Second and more upsetting to me, is that there are no resorts for MEXICO or SOUTH AMERICA listed. NONE. IS HGVC now saying that we can not trade to MEXICO. It's bad enough that they keep building in Orlando and Vegas. Now they are restricting us from going to MEXICO through RCI. Please tell me that HGVC made a stupid mistake and forgot to print the MEXICO and SOUTH AMERICAN resorts.IP: Logged |

I got my book yesterday, I didn't open it. I did notice it seemed thinner than prevous RCI books, I figured they make the font size smaller to save $$. That would be pretty amazing if they purposefully left out Mexico. There are some horrible timeshares in Mexico, but the Mayan resorts are some of the best in the world. I can't imagine excluding them.

I got my book and ignored it till I read your post. There has to be a mis-print or a problem...look on page 216 on the map it pin points the Mexican resorts....but you are right the whole country of Mexico is excluded as far as resorts listed! I wonder what gives? I am sure you are able to trade to Mexico though. My thing with the book is I wish they gave us the option if we wanted to get it or not. For me it is a waste of paper since I prefer to view info online vs in a book. I know that there are many who don't have computers or go online so for them they need a book, but I personally don't need it. Rick IP: Logged |

Maybe HGVC owners are only supposed to trade into Mexico via the Fiesta Americana group.? AnitaIP: Logged |

I noticed same thing, however, they also did not have a listing for their own Valdoro Lodge in Colorado. They do show it in the back of book on their map for Colorado. but.. no Mexico. Let me know if I missed the valdoro lodge listing.IP: Logged |

If you look at the cover it says Directory of Select RCI resorts. In the cover letter on page one it says based upon imput from the highest rated resorts this is the most favorable and most highly requested. IT also says that there are 3,700 RCI resorts available for review on RCI .com and this book is the nearly 700 resorts featured that fellow Club members recommend.------------------ Lisa C IP: Logged |

What's next the elimination of RCI exchanges all together? Gee, I'm so glad I was lied to and suckered into buying into this club where they tell me what resorts I'm going to stay at.IP: Logged |

the book is very nice. it leaves out a lot of resorts in a lot of areas. In orde to get it down to 700 they had to leave a few things out. all of rci is still available to us.------------------ ff flagstaff x2, surf club marco island(hgvc) IP: Logged |

If you actually take a look at the book, a map of all the RCI exchange locations are in the back. The ones in the "select" (700 of them) book are highlighted in red.IP: Logged |

I appreciate your input, however somethings just don't make any sense. Why pick a number of 700? Why not 750 or 1000 and include Mexico. If they were only going to include GC & RID resorts, why not include the resorts in Mexico? Mexico has numerous GC & RID beach front locations. Maybe I'm just a glass is half empty type of person, but it seems very suspicious. It feels like they are trying to steer club members away from staying in certain areas. IP: Logged |

After reading the different posts, I went back and read the statement on the first page written by Kim Robert Kreiger. Mr. Kreiger stated that, " Through the years, HGVClub members have shared their feedback about worldwide RCI vacation experiences. Based upon this input, we have complied the most favorably rated, high-quality resorts in the most requested vacation exchange destinations." Then I paged through the book and stopped on page 40. The resort I saw was #1034, Land of Canaan Vacation Resort Inc. in West Virginia. Mr. Kreiger do you actually want me to believe that a resort in West Virgina is more highly rated and is more requested for an exchange than any of the Mayan Palace resorts in Mexico. Give me a break. I'm sorry Mr. Kreiger, but I'm not going to drink your Kool-Aid. IP: Logged |
