I thought I was straight about "Floating weeks" at Vistana Resort Orlando in the Cascades when I almost bought two weeks but then decided against doing so. In the documents I signed, specific units during specific weeks were listed as being purchased. However, I was told ALL weeks were "Floating" weeks. Does this mean the "specific" weeks and units listed in the documents had no real meaning for trading etc? Jack ------------------ Spam is a severe and chronic problem for me. That is pretty typical with floating weeks. You are deeded a particular unit and week, but it really means nothing. As I understand it, all Cascades weeks ARE floating and float all 52 weeks. That is different from the Fountains, for instance, where there are two different float periods. Sheila IP: Logged |

Thanks for the reply. Maybe I'm just suspicious when it comes to being able to trade and make reservations. It must be a real log jam the first few hours of "open season" for reserving a week. That's not exactly how it works. Owners can make a Resv. at their home resort a maximum of 12 mos. from the day they want to arrive, so the reservation day is different for everybody. It has nothing to do with the date of the week stipulated on your deed. Most of the resorts have Fri., Sat., or Sun. check in. So every week, there are people trying to make a Resv. for 12 mos. ahead. Same thing happens at 8 mos. out, when owners can use StarOptions to make a Resv. at a resort other than their home resort. ------------------ Denise IP: Logged |
