Yes, we would notify all inbound exchange guests. The change shouldn't affect your trading power as it is determined by the specific resort. In this case, the Marriott name will not be associated but everything else remains the same. The main difference is you will no longer be able to participate in the Marriott internal exchange program. quote: Originally posted by MarTN: Dear Craig,I don't know if you've heard -- Marriott is dropping the HHI resorts of Swallowtail and Spicebush as of 12/31/2003. I had already decided to do a request first for 2004 and just use my unit if the exchange didn't come through. I try to be an honest person, however, and I worry that someone will be upset if they match with my unit in 2003 and arrive in 2004 to find out that it's not a Marriott anymore. I think, previously, Swallowtail and Spicebush guests could attend some activities at the other M properties. Will II make sure that incoming guests understand the situation? I don't suppose there's any way of knowing how much our trading power will drop when the big M is gone from our name???

Craig, I have a banked week that is about to expire. Is there anyway to get the expiration date extended? I understand that it is not possible to transfer this week to someone else as a deposit to use for an exchange. Is that right? My only option is to find a vacation before the expiration date, or let it pass? thanks Cheryl ------------------ Cheryl H

You can extend it by one year on a flexchange basis for $69.We are not able to transfer a deposit fron one membership to another. Another option would be to transfer the confirmed exchange via a guest certificate. quote: Originally posted by CherylH: Craig, I have a banked week that is about to expire. Craig, sorry I posted in the wrong area previously, but my question is, how does II determine a red week, yellow week, green week. I was negotating for a week 14 at a golf resort in NC and then find out, II has week 14 as yellow. I was shocked. This is prime golfing season and RCI starts their red weeks at week 12 at this same resort. What gives?

Craig, I have some serious misgivings about the information I was given by one of your supervisors. We recently purchased a Marriott timeshare this fall. When Marriott deposited our fixed week with Interval they set up a new account for the deposit, rather than using our old II account number which we have had for 8 years. When I called to ask that the accounts be consolidated into one, I was told that this couldn't be done. At this point I asked to speak to a supervisor, and was told that he could transfer my Marriott deposit to my old account, but that I would be given an accomodation certificate for my deposited week, which he proceeded to do. He told me not to worry that it was a "replacement week" even though it appears as an accomodation certificate on my account. I asked how I would know that this certificate is equal in trading power to my Marriott week that I had deposited, and he said I would just have to accept his word. This accomodation certificate now appears in my old account, and I put in a pending request. How do I know that this request receives the Marriott 21-day trading priority and do I receive additional priority since my deposit was made more than 10 months out? Can you give me some assurance that this is true? Somehow an accomodation certificate does not seem equal to a Marriott deposited week.

The color code designations are determined based on the demand indicators provided by the resort. quote: Originally posted by MissSunbeam: Craig, sorry I posted in the wrong area previously, but my question is, how does II determine a red week, yellow week, green week. Hi Craig !We own a Marriott week in Europe. The sales rep said that owners of European resorts are given "priority" when trading into Europe via II. Was he pulling our leg ? Second Question: You replied that a deposited week can be extended for 1-year for $69 on a "Flexchange" basis. What does this mean in laymen's terms ? Thanks, Doug [This message has been edited by DougKaya (edited 11-25-2002).]

Marriott owners are given a priority, over non Marriott owners, for all of their properties. There is not a specific priority for European resorts for Marriott owners who own there.Flexchange basis means that you can request dates no more than 59 days in advance of occupancy. quote: Originally posted by DougKaya: Hi Craig !We own a Marriott week in Europe. Dear Craig,Thank you for helping all of us. I want to go to a family reunion in August in Poipu, Kauai. Would a Thanksgiving week at Marriott Desert Springs be a good trade? I've had my request in for a year. Ned and Lorraine Leavitt. Thank you.

If I purchase a Westgate Villas unit in Orlando, will I be prohibited from purchasing Getaways in Orlando? I believe Westgate requests a regional block in exchanging, but I need to know if it also applies to the purchase of Getaways. Thanks! ------------------ Greg in Morris, MN

Hi Craig, I really hate to beat a dead horse with this issue but if it was talked about, I missed it completely. So that I may truly understand II's concept of trading into another Resort I will inquiry some info if possible. I currently own a 2bd sleeps6/8 max. Now when I go to the II site and look for a trade for with what I own sometimes I see 1, 2 or 3 bdrms available. Now,am I obligated to trade into a 2bdrm 6/8 or into a lesser room? As I have indicated I see what is available at the II site and sometimes see 3bedrm available for the timeframe I am looking for as well. Am I allowed to choose this 3bdrm or not? Just curious as RCI allows one to trade into a 3bdrm only if the unit is available upon request. Thanks Joe[This message has been edited by SJU/AIFSS (edited 11-27-2002).]

Ditto for Cypress Pointe 1? How does 1 in 4 rule affect an owner at CP1? Also, the current owner belongs to VRI only. I believe CP1 can trade through RCI or II as well. What can II offer that RCI can't and can I as a resale purchaser join II? thanks...george

Craig, Could you answer a question a few of us have? I was looking with my bonus cert for Orlando in Jan 2003. Checking for Dec. 2002 I was able to see all kinds of Marriotts as possible exchanges. In Jan. I couldn't see one. Other people checking with their bonus certs could see the Jan. Marriotts (not all of them were using Marriotts to check). We don't quite understand why this would happen. It can't be strictly a trade power issue, since I could see them in Dec. and Jan is still within the 59 day window. ------------------ Cindi
