Craig, Assuming the weeks are at the same resort, in general, which would have a higher trading power, a 2 bedroom yellow week or a 1 bedroom red week. Or in other words, which criteria is given more weight, the size of the unit or the season. Is there a way to find out which of the two weeks (assuming both are already deposited with Interval) has the better trading power?

There are exceptions to this policy, right? For example, all Maui Marriott units have only limited kitchens, but it is my understanding that MM owners may demand exchanges with full kitchens.

I can't make comments regarding trading power. quote: Originally posted by tugshare02:

Yes, Marriott owners at the Maui property can request a unit with a full kitchen. quote: Originally posted by liubruin: There are exceptions to this policy, right? I have the same question about Starwood's Harborside. Those units have microwave/convection ovens instead of a full oven. Is this a "limited kitchen", and if so, may owners request exchanges with full kitchens? ------------------ Chris IP: Logged |

They can request them but will be confirmed to any unit that has the same kitchen configuration. quote: Originally posted by seenett: I have the same question about Starwood's Harborside. Craig- If I want to go to a particular resort any time during the summer of 2005 how would I go about getting "first in line?" Can I call on June 26, 2003 and ask for an on-going search for all of summer 2005 or do I have to call back everyday during the summer of 2003 to extend the search dates to reflect that two year advance time frame? Thanks in advance.Craig (maverick) IP: Logged |

Craig, The folks on the Points board suggested I post this query to you so here it is:"Ok, I see from reading here and other places on TUG that Sunterra Club is now associated with II. How did you all know that? I did get the Sunscape which announced the affiliation, but I did not get a membership card or directory. Sunterra does not respond to my inquiries. After reading what terrible shape your directories came in, I wonder if mine just got lost due to mail damage. Was the membership card enclosed w/the directory? Second question: Can I redeem my points for a banked week with them...ie points are about to expire and I need to do something to extend them? Any thing else I should know? Anyone have any sugggestions about how to get an II membership card/directory? Without a membership #, I can't try anything out. Thanks, Sandy

If your resort offers a 24 month exchange window, you could place a request for 2005 in the summer of 2003. However, you could not list dates that are more than 24 months away. My suggestion would be wait until the end of the summer and list all the dates at that time. Most resorts do not allow a 24 month window because they are not equipped to manage their maintenance fee collection so far in advance. Therefore, you would be one of the first to place your vacation request. quote: Originally posted by maverick: Craig- If I want to go to a particular resort any time during the summer of 2005 how would I go about getting "first in line?" We have already assigned membership numbers, and provided membership kits and a directory, for all Club Sunterra owners. Our agreement with Sunterra prevents us from access to your addresses. Therefore, we send all materials to them for shipping to the individual member. If you phone their owner services, they will be able to provide your membership number. At that time, you may want to ask the options available for your expiring points. quote: Originally posted by Sandy SLP: Craig, The folks on the Points board suggested I post this query to you so here it is:"Ok, I see from reading here and other places on TUG that Sunterra Club is now associated with II. Craig - Why don't many of the Sunterra resorts show up in the resort listings yet? Also is the membership in II a "full" one or a limited type similar to what Disney offers? Thanks.

To add to John's question... I've noticed that many of the changes in the geographical classifications are still not reflected in the online directory. And I'm seeing an increasing number of exchange possibilities crop up that are not listed at all in the online directory. It looks like this has not been a priority internally. Now that the exchange portion of the site is running so smoothly, is there any plan to get the online directory in order?------------------ Ed Bott -- Visit my Web site IP: Logged |

There is a significant amount of paperwork involved in affilliating resorts. This is especially challenging when operating through bankruptcy courts. With time, most of the resorts will be affiliated with Interval International.Sunterra Club members have access to most benefits and services offered through Interval International. It has nothing in common with the Disney model. quote: Originally posted by timeos2: Craig - Why don't many of the Sunterra resorts show up in the resort listings yet? I will pass your comments to the personnel responsible for that section of the website. quote: Originally posted by EdB: To add to John's question... Hi Craig,What is the accommodation certificate cancellation policy? My case may be between 30 and 60 days out. Thanks. IP: Logged |

Hi, Craig! How nice to have this forum! We are somewhat new to timesharing and own an II-affiliated Marriott. We have two children in their mid-twenties. Is a guest certificate necessary for them to use a week of our timeshare if we would not be present during that time? I would hope not, but want to "go by the rules." Thanks! Barb

Craig,Someone on the Web design made a change to the II site that inadvertently removed the header from most pages, which includes links to the resort directory, to the home page, and to signing out. Now, after leaving the home page, you have to use the back button to go all the way back to the home page to get any other information or to begin a new request. This is clearly an error. Some designer changed a style sheet that dropped the header from these pages, and it can probably be added in a matter of minutes once the right person is made aware of it. I don't think that the internal trade preference among the Royal Resorts works while using the online system. For instance, I did an online search for Cancun availability next December. I searched with 3 different resorts. a 2-BR Easter Week Royal Sands, a Christmas Week 1-BR Pelican and a summer 2-BR Lawrence Welk Resort in CA. Here are the results I found: The Royal Sands and the Lawrence Welk found availability at 2 Royal Resorts during the time frame. Each found an efficiency at the Royal Islander and a 2-BR at Club Internacionale (both Royal Resorts) The Pelican pulled neither of the 2. Shouldn't the Pelican pull these if there is an internal trade preference among the Royals? Thanks ------------------ Janis IP: Logged |

If you are traveling to your home resort, Marriott does not require anything other than notice from you they will be traveling. If it is an exchange, it is suggested to purchase a guest certificate. quote: Originally posted by wheaties: Hi, Craig! How nice to have this forum! The comparable exchange methodology still applies within the confines of an internal program. quote: Originally posted by Janis: I don't think that the internal trade preference among the Royal Resorts works while using the online system. For instance, I did an online search for Cancun availability next December.
