A question for someone who is a member of Netflix -- For TV shows that may have 3 or 4 separate disks, when you request the show, do they send all 4 disks at once, or is each disk a separate "movie" to them? Couldn't find this on their website without signing in as a member, which so far I am not.

Thanks.

Each disk is a separate movie.

So when you create your "wishlist" or whatever it is called, do you list each disk separately? And is there much chance that you would receive them out of order?

(I'm evaluating whether to join - I am just as interested in the TV shows as movies as these are pretty expensive to purchase).

Are you happy with the service?

See this thread for a very good discussion of your question.

If you have not already done so why not sign up for their two week free trial. Netflix much easier to use than to describe and you will find out just how long the transit time is for the DVD's to where you live, which will make a big difference in how happy you might be the service.

dougef - When a movie has multiple disc, you have the option of adding all the discs to your queue with one click. They are added in order so you'll get the first disc first. If for some reason you wish to change the order, you can do so at any time.

I first joined Netflix when I wanted to watch the first season of 24. My husband and I watched the whole first season in one week! That's the only way we watch 24. Right now we're waiting for this season to come out this summer, and we're really looking forward to it.

The simplest way to ensure you get the movies in order is to have a longish wishlist, and leave disks 2 onwards at the bottom of the list and put disk 1 at the top.

I love Netflix,no more drives to the video store. Return mail to them is quick normally 1 day. They email you when they send it out and when they receive it.

You create a queque of movies you want to see and in what order you want to receive them. For latest releases there would be a comment next to the movie such as ready now, short wait or long wait. You can rearrange your list anytime there is a radio button at the top of the screen.

The longer your queque the better. I add upcoming and current cinema releases to my list to create a longer list.

I've not ordered any TV series from them (yet) but my movies always come in the order I request them on my list. Just recently, whenever National Treasure came out, I put it at the top of my list, and though it was noted there might be a slight wait for it, it came as soon as I mailed another one back. I'd go ahead and list the DVDs in the order you want them as 1,2,3 and you'll get the first 3 all at once; as you mail them back one at a time, you'll get the next ones--in plenty of time to keep them sequential as long as you keep sending them back regularly.

We, too, love Net Flicks. Disks always come in the order requested. They come in one day. It's really easy to change the wish list and add something new. We decided to watch the old Star Wars in the order they were released before seeing the new one--we're almost finished now, and they were a whim addition last week.

But what's with the big WalMart ads we're suddenly forced to look at at the beginning of the queue this week? Of course I put up with ads like that (and worse -- flashing ones) on sites I'm not paying for, but as a paying customer I'd sure prefer to not be a marketing target for WalMart of all places. Has anyone here complained to them about this?

I use to have Netflix but I switched to BlockBuster for $17/mounth (3 dvd at a time). Every month BlockBuster gives 2 coupons for free movie or PS2/XBox game, and you can keep the game for 1 week. It cost $6 to rent a game ($12 for 2 games) so it actually cost me $5 a month for 3 dvd at a time. I think this is a real bargain. I am happy and my kids happy too.
