To reiterate: For phase 1 only: you have from 12-10 months in advance to confirm your deeded week. If not confirmed, the week begins to float at the 10 month mark and other platinum week owners have a crack at it. (This is why exactly 10 months in advance is the optimum time to reserve a week in your season that you do not own-- before that it is very difficult as most are not floating yet). Prior to 8 months, you can only make a reservation within the season you own, and for a unit type that you own.

Phase 2 may work differently, because they will not have "weeks" the way that Phase 1 does. So the 10-12 month timeframe for confirming your week may not apply.

Anytime you are reserving a season you don't own, a unit type you don't own, or a resort you don't own, you are using StarOptions. StarOptions may not be used prior to the 8 month mark. You are correct that platinum owners wanting to reserve in gold season receive no special treatment. They must wait until the 8 month mark and use their StarOptions like everyone else.

Denise-

My guess is that you are the one to plan, in detail, every family vacation. So my second guess is that your husband already knows it!

Thanks for all your help! I guess we're back to holding out for a week 26 at Harborside. We've just been getting impatient. Most of the week 26 units for sale have been Friday check-in's with a pool view, not marina view.

Our offer for a week 26 Harborside, 2 bedroom lockoff was just accepted! We finally found a Saturday checkin with a marina view. It's for units 3708/3709. We're excited!! We will be using this week every year. I think we'll have friends and family for years and years that will want to go with us. LOL!!
