The Ask Interval International forum was established as a means of posting questions to and getting direct answers from Craig Urbine, Vice President Member Services, Interval International. At the end of 2003 Craig announced the end of his participation in this forum. No replacement representative has been provided by Interval International, so this forum has been closed to further posts. For current discussion about II see the other forums on the board, especially Exchanging.

The information in existing posts is being left in place as much of it is valuable for future reference.

Craig:

I realize that they are technically the same, what generates the reason for a member to receive both a bonus certificate and a vacation certificate?

Thanks

Usually you wouldn't. The only thing I can imagine is you own at a resort where programs overlap and a second certificate was generated in error. In that case, you should only receive one or the other but a glitch may have occurred. Would you like for me to look into it further?

Hi Craig,

This issue came up with respect to a particular sighting of a Marriott week in Hawaii within the next few weeks. Do Marriott owners receive a preference for other Marriott weeks even within the Flexchange period? If so,how does that work? Is the window where only Marriott owners can see weeks shorter than 30 days within the Flexchange period? Thanks.

Yes, space received is held for three days for Marriott owners.

P.S. You brought my thread back to the top just when I thought I'd finally fallen off the page. Thanks...

Craig,

Thanks. Those Marriott owners once again prove that they are a lucky bunch!!

As for bringing this thread back to the top, quite frankly, I'm glad to see that II is at the top of the page again. I think that we can all use a "diversion" these days

I agree, I must admit I have been able to empathize with our friends at RCI. I'm sure it will calm down though, it wasn't much different when I started.
