Craig, I've been informed that Kuleana Club will soon become II affiliated but have not been able to find out how soon this will happen - can you give me an approximate date?

I have a question about bonus weeks. I apologize if you've answered it elsewhere or if I'm not clear:If you have a bonus week certificate, can you reserve in the "60 day window" anytime, or do you have to be within 60 days of the expiration date of the bonus week? Thanks!

You can use it anytime up until the expiration date of the certificate as long as the travel date is within 60 days. Many of these certificates have a grid of areas/dates that will allow you to place a request up to twelve months in advance. quote: Originally posted by rmayes: I have a question about bonus weeks. Craig, Just to make sure I understand this. I thought the certificates were good for a year. So does that mean I can only use it if I book something and travel within 60 days of when I book the reservation?? Or can I call and book something up to a year in advance of travel? quote: Originally posted by CraigU: You can use it anytime up until the expiration date of the certificate as long as the travel date is within 60 days. The certificates are valid for a year. Many of the certificates issued recently are valid for a flexchange (any area within 60 days) or a request can be placed for certain areas/dates listed on a grid on the back of the certificate. If you are holding a "grid certificate", you can place a request for areas/dates on the grid, up to one year in advance. quote: Originally posted by cindir4: Craig, Just to make sure I understand this. Hi Craig,Here's another question on the topic of AC's (bonus weeks). It's fabulous that II has added an on-line search feature to use these! This feature works like a charm until Dec 31, but if you try and search for any dates after this, it puts you into the right location, but into flexchange (July & August availability). Do you know if this is a temporary glitch? I called internet support, but the person I spoke to said 'we're having problems with the website right now', although she didn't know if this was one of them, or if it has ever worked. Do you or anyone else know if searching the 'grid' for 2003 has ever worked yet? Thanks

I wasn't aware of this. I have advised our internet development team. We will get it corrected. Thank you for the feedback. quote: Originally posted by Heather: Hi Craig,Here's another question on the topic of AC's (bonus weeks). Craig, Can you tell us, please, when and how often any particular ongoing search is run by your computer system? for example: at midnight every day, every five minutes, each Monday at 6 AM ??? Thank you for your help. I hope that this is not an old question, but I did not find it answered in either of your very long threads

Hi again, Craig:In my previous post regarding Trendwest/WorldMark being purchased by Cendant, forgot to mention that we have heard Sunterra is coming to Interval -- that's great news. Just wondering if any other resorts or Clubs might be added. Thanks again, Patricia

Worldmark has a multi year agreement with Interval International. Therefore a void doesn't exist. In any case, we are affiliating new resorts on an ongoing basis. quote: Originally posted by Patricia: Hi Craig:RE: WorldMark/Trendwest With WorldMark/Trendwest recently purchased by Cendant, does Interval have any new resorts/clubs to fill the void? Hi Craig So far, I've received Accommodation Certificates whenever I deposit my Kauai and Marbella weeks. Is it reasonable for me to expect to continue to receive these certificates for the "foreseeable" future ? As far as certificate go... Does my 1-bd and 2-bd weeks, have the same "trading power" ? (Are ALL certificate treated equally ?) Thanks... Doug

Craig,I just wanted to let you know that I will soon be joining II with my new unit at FoxRun, Lake Lure, NC. I had been looking for an II resort in part because I was impressed that you would take the time to post here on TUG. I look forward to exchanging with II as well as to your continued availability here. Best regards. Craig

Certificates are offered to members who own weeks at resorts where demand exceeds the normal supply. In many cases, the demand remains constant so a certficate would continue to be offered. However, it depends on the current travel patterns which can and does change. Enjoy it while you can. As far as trading power is concerned, certificates do have different trading power. quote: Originally posted by DougKaya: Hi Craig So far, I've received Accommodation Certificates whenever I deposit my Kauai and Marbella weeks. I do not know where we use the words "Vacation Certificate" but I would assume they are one in the same.

Craig- I have had an ongoing search in II for a long time. I'm looking for the one and only Makaha, Oahu timeshare (Princess at Makaha Beach). As trade bait, I'm using my Waikiki, Oahu (Imperial Hawaii) timeshare.I have just realized that it is absolutely impossible for this trade to work (except possibly on very short notice, which I can't do). The II software will not allow it. My Waikiki timeshare is a 1 bedroom, 2 bath that sleeps 4. This is the largest 1 bedroom that the Imperial has. I would be happy with the smallest unit at Makaha: a 1 bedroom, 1 bath, that sleeps 4. Nope. I cannot get it. The II software will not allow it. Why? Because my Waikiki timeshare has a half-size refrigerator. I don't remember if the stove only has 2 burners instead of 4, but that is possible. It does have all the other usual kitchen stuff, though. But because it skimps a bit on the kitchen, II considers it to have a "partial kitchen." The Makaha timeshare, on the other hand, has a "full kitchen." And the II software will not allow a timeshare with partial kitchen to trade into a timeshare with full kitchen! Ouch. And this is not just the case for trades into other Hawaii resorts -- but for trades everywhere. I look at the many timeshares I can trade into, that II offers me online, and they all have either partial or no kitchen. Even in Orlando. All I see are timeshares with partial or no kitchen. There is no way to get there from here. Next year I guess I'll have to deposit my timeshare with Trading Places, because I want to try again for Makaha. Or maybe a little bird can make a suggestion to the programmers that the software might be tweaked a bit, so that it doesn't absolutely prohibit trades like these from occuring? (Does it really make sense to forbid a kitchen upgrade from ever occuring?) ------------------ Brian Holliday [This message has been edited by Brian Holliday (edited 07-30-2002).]
