I agree that some of the timeshares on Cape Cod are not very good. I am VERY SUPRISED, however that you think the beaches are overrated!!! Pat ------------------ Owner: Lakeview, WV IP: Logged |

I'm with Mas about Nassau and the unfriendly locals. Same with St. Martin. The stinkface.Margarita Island (trashy and dangerous) Montego Bay (too many ganja vendors, hair braiders, miscellaneous junk sellers and crummy diving) Turks and Caicos (beautiful beach, but nothing else) Aruba (High rise after high rise and culturally sanitized) Cancun (ditto) Waikiki (ditto) Orlando (not a fan of The Mouse, and have done the other stuff) New England (Was there WAY too long) Anyplace with snow ------------------ --Cat [This message has been edited by Cat (edited 04-28-2005).] IP: Logged |

Maybe I had very high expectations but it was a long 5 hour trip from Long Island to cape cod and the beaches I went to did not compare to beaches in Long Island or NJ. Perhaps I just never found a nice beach without rocks and hard sand and murky waters. ------------------ Larry IP: Logged |

I thought it was just dh and me, but I see quite a few others who see no reason to return to Montego Bay or New Orleans. Other "no returns": Greece Nassau--next time I'm there on a cruise, I'm staying on board.

So far Ocean City NJ,Niagara Falls,CA,Atlantic City area,Tijuana,LA,Jamaica,Grand Cayman,Cozumel and St Thomas. WDW now that the kids are older but great when they were younger.Epcot needs a redo.I felt very unsafe in Jamaica. The others I have seen one or more times and feel no need to revisit. Too many other places to go on my list. Headed to Atlantis in 2 weeks. I could revisit Hilton Head or Colonial Williamsburgh without ever tiring of it. IP: Logged |

How about places where The Commanding Officer would be OK for a return trip, but The Chief Of Staff doesn't want to go there again? And vice versa. Would those lists be the same or different? -- Alan Cole, McLean (Fairfax County), Virginia, USA.

I have been thinking about this for 2 days and I've finally decided the only place I would not return to is Margarita Island. It was not a good experience. I guess I'm just another one who is happy just to be on vacation!Lynn IP: Logged |

I find these posts very interesting. It reminds me of the old saying "one man's poison is another's meat". Man's individuality and preferences really shows up here. That is what makes life so interesting. JMHO of course frenchieinme

To those who said Montego Bay - you really haven't seen Jamaica if that is as far as you went. True, its not for everyone, but there are some really nice areas and extremely friendly people outside the city. You think MoBay is bad? Don't even think about Kingston !! ------------------ Frank Newman IP: Logged |

Ohhhhhh, that really hurts.. (being that I've lived in Texas all my life) Truthfully, I don't blame you one bit. Whenever I read about people who want to visit Texas, I always ask myself, "Why in the heck for?" It must be because I've lived here all my life and see things differently. That's the only logical excuse I can come up with .

No offense, but I was so very disappointed in Denver. I expected all of Colorado to be as beautiful as the photos of the mountain resort areas.I spent 16 days there with a friend as she had surgery and treatment at University of Colorado and Jewish National. I found the architecture boring and ugly, the food mediocre and even the vistas flat and unattractive. I spent the first week having altitude sickness. We weren't able to leave and travel upwards due to my friend's lung condition. I was very impressed by the care at Jewish National and did enjoy the shopping in the Cherry Creek area. ------------------ Glynda IP: Logged |
