It's okay not to want to come back to Texas, but Texas is one of the most varied states. We have the Gulf Coast, East Texas piney woods and lakes, west Texas mountains and deserts. Houston is flat and hot and humid--totally different from, say, the Hill Country which is drier and has [surprise] hills! Actually, this is a beautiful time of year to be in Houston. Just forget coming in August. IP: Logged |

Wow - this thread is rather interesting, especially the places that keep coming up over and over!I would not go back to: Marbella and south Spain (good to see once) Seville (ditto) Cordoba (ditto) Granada (ditto) San Francisco (ditto) Would definitely go back to: London (I had a ball!) Paris (even though I've been there 3 times) Barcelona (even though I've been there 3 times as well) If I could only ever travel to one place always, it would be: Italy - over and over again! I wished that I was so lucky that I could have a long list of places that I would never go back to for a repeat visit. Just looking to go for the first time to a lot of the places people never want to go back to for a visit."Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" IP: Logged |

I plan to go back as soon as I can.I cannot really think of anyplace I don't really like. I was bored when we went to Branson. I do plan to go again, but just not for a whole week. I think you have hit the nail on the head, a week in New Orleans is too much, three days probably just right. Much the way you feel about Branson. And another poster also had a point - the way you see a place differs depending on so many factors like are you there with a friend or lover, broke or flush, sunny or rainy. ------------------ EllenD IP: Logged |

Would not go back to:Denver, CO (highly over-rated) Tiajuana, Mexico (creepy) Corpus Christi, Texas (sounds lovely but is ugly) Cannot believe New Orleans made so many lists! A few friends of mine who did not like it only experienced it on-the-side while on business. Of course they did not stay in the French Quarter and went during the hottest, most humid month. I went during Spring Break and opted not to stay in a condo or a downtown hotel but in the FRENCH QUARTER, which is what NOLA is all about. I'll go back anytime (even in the humidity). Would also return to: British Columbia San Francisco Florida's Gold Coast Sedona, Arizona and am DYING to try: Venice, Italy (but again, not in a condo. This location would have to be a small, centrally location pension with lots of atmosphere. IP: Logged |

I wouldn't care to go back to any resort that doesn't allow bathing suits or beach shoes in their lobby or any area that gets below 70 degrees at night.Sandcrab ------------------ "...it's my own damned fault" Buffett [This message has been edited by modiv57 (edited 05-03-2005).] IP: Logged |

I can't think of one place that I have been that given the right circumstances (time and money) I wouldn't go back. Anyplace I didn't like as much, I figure it is because I didn't get to see the right things. I have travelled and lived all over the world (lived in Beijing for 3 years) never left a place and thought, OK, I have seen everything there. I always leave thinking what I would like to see next time.... I guess I must be odd....------------------ Wisdom doesn't always come with age.... sometimes age comes alone. Kauai......leaving the paradise island was just too difficult and I was in withdrawal for weeks. The only way I would go back was with the intent to live there forever.Never have we experienced such warm 'vibes' from everyone we encountered, and our stay at the Banyan Harbour was just about perfect. Even the cockroaches in our rental car didn't deter us! Diane ------------------ 'Be not forgetful to entertain strangers; for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.' I love this thread, especially since we've only used our timeshares a few times and have many more to go. Not just including timeshare travel, the places I would not go back to are:Black Hills area, South Dakota (Badlands are amazing but once is enough) Tuscon, AZ (though the outdoor desert zoo would definitely be worth a day trip from Phoenix, if we had the kids along) Branson (enjoyed the week there, but did & saw what we wanted to) Williamsburg (again, liked it, but saw what we wanted to) Greece, unless it was an ocean resort Spain, unless it was Barcelona (didn't make it that far) Portugal, unless it was an ocean resort in the southern region N..E...B...R...A...S...K...A incredibly long drive Nashville (turned me on to country music, but really not a lot to see) Texas Black Forest area of Germany (three times is enough) Places I would like to return to: New York City Boston Orlando (but only once, to see Universal Studios) Sanibel Island Charleston Ireland London and the rest of the island Paris and other areas of France Octoberfest Prague Norway Austria & Switzerland Rome (for a few days) Singapore/Malaysia (especially Tioman Island) Places I would love to see for a first time: New England New Orleans Quebec Florida Keys Any Caribbean place Any Mexican ocean place except Puerto Vallarta Costa Rica Hawaii California, especially the Redwood Forest The Rocky Mountains The upper NW, but especially Vancouver Island Yellowstone Grand Canyon IP: Logged |

Daytona Beach ESPECIALLY during Biker's week - the noise level is unrelenting 24 hours a day. At night and inside my ocean front unit, I could still hear the sound of the bikes over the sound of the wind and waves from the ocean.IP: Logged |
