Would not go back to:
Orlando
Or anywhere in Florida (come to think of it)
Sand Diego (don't know why but didn't care for it)
Atlantic City (having said that I have plans to go to a knitting convention in Sept.!)

Count me in this group. The only reason I am going this year is because my SIL just moved to the area and we miss our niece and nephew.

The reasons I have no desire to go to Las Vegas:
1. Don't gamble
2. Can't stand smoky atmosphere
3. Too glitzy
4. Don't care for the desert

That said, I probably will make one short trip there fairly soon as I've promised to take my younger dd to see one of the Cirque shows (which are her passion). Otherwise, I'd be just as happy not to go.

Parkplace:

Vegas is not our kind of vacation. My wife did not even want to go once but I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Thankfully, we did not do a weeklong exchange. We would have gone nuts. We looked at the different hotels, went to really overpriced & expensive night shows, but we do not gamble. A long weekend was more than enough for us.

I agree with so many posters that there are places you never want to visit, and those places where once is enough, and those places you would love to become a regular.

I too am not a fan of Las Vegas. We have been there twice, and I have no desire to ever return. Feels ugly and dirty to me, not glitzy and glamorous. All of that money wasted on concrete. UGH.

I also was not real fond of New Mexico,however it did make me feel like I lived on a beautiful golf course because it was so barren.Those are the only two vacations we have taken that I was actually not sad to go home........ now Colorado,Key West, Hawaii....... never want to go home when I am there. Mountains and ocean.............has me dreaming!

It has been many years since I've been there, but what else is really a major attraction?

When I was there on business I didn't have enough time to see everything there was to see: They have a lovely paddlewheller, the General Jackson that cruises down the Cumberland River while playing a dinner show, The Opryland Hotel which is GI-NORMOUS (and I work 5 min from Mall of America and was much more impressed with this because it is A1 top quality crafted) it also houses CMT (Country Music Television) and has tons of restaurants & shops, lots to see.

My favorite was the Belle Meade Mansion, thought I was on a set of Gone With the Wind. The pre-civil war mansion is in very nice condition. They even let you go in the beautiful horse stable. Their horses sired a huge percentage of Kentucky Derby winners.

The other home is Andrew Jackson's (aka General Jackson) which also is in good shape. It even has the original slave quarters and family cemetary out back.

An exact replica of Greek's Parthenon is near Vanderbilt University.

Not to mention Music Row and Printer's Alley downtown where you can hear all the music you want. I really enjoyed it and would like to go back with my husband.

I wouldn't care to see Nassau in the Bahamas or Key West again.
There are other places that I wouldn't rush back to. But, if the weather is good and the price is right,I can be persuaded.

Puerto Viarta--hot, sticky, stinky, and the ocean water is brown and yucky looking

Any place in Mexico for that matter...I always get sick there, and I NEVER drink the water or eat the ice cubes, etc. etc.

Jamaica--same reasons as above, but add agressive rude vendors that drive me nuts

I would not go back to:

Aruba - been there twice and while it was fun we want to see other islands in the caribbean except Jamaica (too scary and filthy) pretty though when you get away from the big cities.

Anywhere in Florida - just not interested in seeing any of it again (did a driving trip lasted 2 weeks, saw Orlando, Miami, the Keys and Tampa), its one of those "once is enough" trips.

Grand Canyon - once is enough

San Diego - once is enough

Ocean Shores, WA - once is too many, rather go to the Oregon Coast (more scenic).

Places I would go back to again:

Rome

Las Vegas - I am like many who do not gamble (not a lot anyway, I cringe if I lose $20) but I enjoy it for the golf and shows and people watching.

San Francisco - Probably my favorite city in the world

New York - Love it, or I did before 9/11, don't know how it has changed since then (the people, not the buildings)

Washington D.C. - I love Museums (especially free ones!)

Cancun - I enjoyed the water (not snorkeling though), beaches and the quality of places to stay (can't beat the Royals; Mayan and Caribbean). It is very americanized but if you want, you can go out and explore and even go through a checkpoint complete with submachine gun wielding guards to get the flavor of another country.

Grand Cayman - snorkling is good and its probably the safest island in the caribbean

St. Barts - my favorite island in the caribbean

I would like to see:
Paris
London
South Pacific
Parts of Asia
Brazil
Peru

Don't know if this is just for T/S or all places. I am assuming all places

Places I have lived in or been lots of time and would go back in a heartbeat for vacation:
* London (for West End - live there 2 yrs)
* Paris (for the food, wine and friends - lived there 2 years)
* Prague (for the architecture - lived there 6 years)
* Berlin
* San Francisco (my favourite US city)
* Boston (lots of things to do)
* New Orleans (for the FOOD )
* NZ/Australia (6months in NZ but only a couple of trips to OZ and would like to
* NYC for weekend or short break (for food or shows - restaurant week is great)
* Montreal (but thats an easy one since it is 2 hrs drive away)

Places I have gone to once/twice that I would go back for longer:
* Vancouver / Calgary - to go around Rockies, Banff and Lake Louise
* Most of Europe
* Hawaii

Places I would not go back to:
* Daytona Beach
* Dallas Texas (except if I had to on business)
* Las Vegas for holiday (did several trips for conferences at Bellagio - very nice and once for a weekend of holiday but probably not again if I was paying my own way although next business trip have to plan some time to go to Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam)

Places I have not been but want to go:
* China to see the great wall
* Scandanavia (Norway, Denmark, Sweden, etc.)
* Peru
* Brazil
* Argentina
* Tahiti (once lol)
* Antartic anyone ;-)
